Gary Gygax, RIP

The co-author of the game that changed my childhood died today, age 69. I could wax nostalgic for multiple paragraphs, detail the many hours spent with the Schnegelburger brothers learning the original 1st edition Advanced rule set, but I need to keep this entry short. I e-mailed with Gary several times in the late 1990s and now wish I'd kept those conversations. Unfortunately, I'm a horrible archivist so they've been gone for years. I think I'll fire up Neverwinter Nights 2 sometime tonight and perhaps rollup a new character build; I'll certainly think of Gary while playing Mysteries of Westgate, the upcoming adventure for NWN2.
